The company was facing a lawsuit from drivers that alleged the first had cheated them of pay. Various media reports described UBER as having a &#8220;asshole culture: where women were sexually harassed and the firm&#8217;s CEO, Travis Kalanick was caught on video berating an UBER driver.<\/p>\n<p>Seeking someone to help restore UBER\u2019s imperiled reputation \u2013 not to mention help create a sustainable workplace culture going forward \u2013 the company selected <strong>Harvard Business School\u2019s Frances Frei<\/strong>\u00a0as its SVP for leadership and strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the main reason UBER sought out Frei is because the cornerstone of her leadership philosophy is the belief that <strong><em>trust is the foundation of everything we do.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Frei has since performed extensive research on trust \u2013 how to establish it, sustain it and even re-build it \u2013 and went on to share her findings in a <strong>TED talk that\u2019s now been viewed nearly five million times.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All distilled, Frei says there really are only three component parts of trust; and if we \u201cwobble\u201d in any one of them, we put ourselves in harm\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/staging-wmplo.xyz\/mark-c-divi5\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/410X2dKOKtL._SX339_BO1204203200_-205x300-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4617 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/staging-wmplo.xyz\/mark-c-divi5\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/410X2dKOKtL._SX339_BO1204203200_-205x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>way:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>(1) Authenticity:<\/em><\/strong><em><em><em>\u00a0 People trust us more if they sense we are being authentic with them.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>(2) Rigorous Logic:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>We\u2019re trusted when people respect the process we use to arrive at our decisions, &amp; when we communicate them effectively.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>(3) Empathy: \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>Trust is lost when people feel we focus mostly on ourselves \u2013 not on them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Just this week, Frei published her new book, <strong><em>Unleashed: The Unapologetic Leader\u2019s Guide To Empowering Everyone Around You,\u201d<\/em> <\/strong>co-written with Anne Morriss.
