It gets blamed for everything from political polarization to workplace discrimination. We commonly believe tribalism is a societal divider &amp; therefore a harmful influence on society.<\/p>\n<p>But, as we discuss in this episode, Morris redefines tribalism not as a flaw but as a crucial part of human nature that can be harnessed for positive change. Teams and organizations are shaped by these instincts \u2013 they subtly influence our thoughts &amp; actions \u2013 &amp; when tribal \u201cleaders\u201d recognize &amp; leverage these instincts, they\u2019re able to enhance the tribe\u2019s performance, bridge divided &amp; drive cultural change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>A central theme of Morris\u2019 book is belonging.<\/strong> He explains how our need to belong (a theme we routinely &amp; purposely explore on this podcast) motivates our identities &amp; behaviors.
