Reiki (pronounced \u201cray-key\u201d<\/strong>) is a Japanese technique for relaxation that promotes the body\u2019s natural healing process. It is based on the idea that an unseen \u201clife force energy\u201d flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If our \u201clife force energy\u201d is low, we are more likely to feel stressed or even get sick, but if it is high we are capable of feeling healthy and at ease.<\/p>\n Reiki is gentle and noninvasive, yet yields powerful resultsin healing emotional, behavioral and physical illnesses or injuries. It can be preformed by laying on hands or even from a distance, depending on the animal\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n Energy healing is a holistic modality for our pets that views their health from the perspective of the \u201cwhole being.\u201d This includes their physical, mental, emotional and spiritualhealth. Reiki helps bring the \u201cwhole being\u201d back into energetic balance, which often brings about improvements or resolutions to the animal\u2019s symptoms.<\/p>\n Sessions are approximately 45 minutes, but can be shorter depending on how much energy the animal feels comfortable receiving. They are always in charge of the length of treatment and will show the practitioner where to focus. Animals are intuitive, energetic beings and our loving friends.
